Cooking for one? We’ve got a series of recipes that are quick, easy, healthy, affordable, and perfect for leftovers. Stop making excuses and start cooking!

Greetings, subjects of singledom! Let’s talk about your three basic needs: shelter, clothing, and food. Chances are that if you’re reading this, you have a roof over your head and you’ve got some pretty sweet clothes – I mean, of course you do, because you’re awesome, ambitious, and accomplished, right? (Just say yes.) So, let’s talk about my favorite subject- FOOD.
Be honest. Can you cook for yourself?
Now listen here, single friends. Did you say, “Oh, it’s only me so I live on egg whites and cottage cheese,” or “I don’t know how,” or how about, “It takes too much time“?
Well, it’s time to cut the crap and start cookin’! We’re launching a series called One Cook in the Kitchen showcasing recipes that:
Even a novice cook can recreate (I’ll take you through all the details)
Take less time to clean up than they do to enjoy (I effing hate doing dishes)
Are inexpensive & healthy (because, duh)
Make awesome leftovers (we’re all about efficiency)
You seriously need a 5th? Quick, cheap, easy, and healthy weren’t enough? Did you read the part about leftovers?!
“Why is this so important?”
Glad you asked. It’s important because you deserve to fill your belly with good stuff. You work hard, you’re a total badass, and, sure, I love Chipotle too, but come on now! You can’t achieve your maximum awesomeness without being fueled by quality foods!

Nothing says, I’m a human being and I’m participating in my basic humanism like preparing and enjoying a meal. The best part about cooking for yourself is that you can customize it anyway you want without having to worry about other people’s preferences! You can have it anyway you want when there’s only One Cook in the Kitchen! But of course, all of these meals are easily translatable into totally impressive cuisines for occasions when you’re entertaining some friends… or perhaps a date. Cooking for yourself CAN be easy, it CAN be fun, and it absolutely WILL be delicious.
Now, go grab an apron, roll up your sleeves, and get your sweet ass in the kitchen!
